ANOTHER OBSERVATION

There are questions about whether the president has the power to reopen the economy or whether it is a state by state determination. Judge Pirro just laid out what the constitution gives to the president and what states have via the tenth amendment and then concluded that it’s a shared responsibility. The thought I have been having with this question was highlighted by the judge but then not pursued. As she indicated, interstate commerce is federal and can anything be more about interstate commerce than opening up the economy?

Listen I don’t know how this question would come out at the Supreme Court but I find it hard to believe that closing some states and opening others doesn’t affect interstate commerce. For those of you who don’t know, the civil rights act was passed under the commerce clause.

I find it interesting that everyone thought he could shut down the economy but now don’t think he can open it back up.
