I’m sure most of you know that the US beat Iran today to advance to the knockout stage. I’m not by any means an expert or even a knowledgeable watcher, but there are a couple of things that annoy me First, and Robin Williams even did a bit on it during his Broadway show, but the ridiculous acting like you were fouled to get a penalty kick has to stop. I believe that even the NBA finally put in a rule to punish acting. Today I saw a guy from Iran who probably fouled the American fall down grab his calf and start screaming, literally screaming, like he just broke his leg and when the referee didn’t buy it he got up and resumed playing!

The second thing that annoys me is the bonus time nonsense. For those of you who don’t know, it’s the amount of time added on at the end to compensate for time spent while injured players are being aided because they don’t stop the clock. I know it’s heresy but just stop the damn clock so that when the game is over it’s over.
