The story of the principal denying students knowledge of their merit scholar status because it wasn’t fair and equitable to everyone reminded me of an incident I was involved in. And no it has nothing to do with academics. In point of fact when I was in high school almost 60 years ago it was the opposite of woke. There were advanced or accelerated classes for the top, I don’t know but will say, 15 to 20% of students and then the majority of the students were in regular classes and the sweathogs had their own classes and since I played sports and most of my friends were sweathogs I never had any classes with them. How long do you think that would last in today’s woke nonsense?

The incident I’m referring to happened one time I flew into San Francisco on business and I don’t recall why the problem existed but it was probably because Hertz’s computers went down at some point before I arrived and resulted in a pretty big back up. Now through most of my professional career I was a Hertz Gold Card member which was very convenient because there was a separate check in line for us that was very quick. I don’t think I ever had to wait more than 15 minutes to check in and get my car.

However on this day a black twenty something woman decided that she would close the gold line because it wasn’t fair to everyone and I and other gold members didn’t raise a ruckus until after I had been waiting for 30-40 minutes and some I guess minor celebrity or maybe just some guy dressed up and the same woman opened the gold line and waited on him immediately and I did raise a ruckus. I said why is he going to the front of the line and she said because he’s a gold member and I said so am I and many of the people waiting in line.

Anyway when I got to the counter which wasn’t too much longer I asked for the manager and my agent asked why and I said because I want the communist fired immediately. I didn’t get the manager but they upgraded me to the top of the line Lexus at no charge.
