Yesterday I saw an article by some nutritionist and she claimed that the turkey tryptophan sleep is basically an old wives tale because according to her roast chicken and other roast meats have more tryptophan than turkey according to her the real culprit is the stress of the holiday etc. Well I have eaten lots of the other things and don’t pass into a coma.
However I conducted my own empirical experiment over the last two days and it’s the turkey! Yesterday after eating my delicious turkey about 45 minutes later I couldn’t keep my eyes open and essentially passed out for at least a half hour. Today I had a delicious turkey sandwich and the same thing happened and I don’t stress out over holidays.
IT’S THE TURKEY!!
