IRAN

From what I’ve gathered over the past several days, there is a feud going on in the defense department between those who want to bomb Iran now and those who want to pursue diplomacy and avoid another endless war. I don’t know where Trump is on this but I do know that he will never let them get a nuclear weapon.

Word is it that Israel had plans to attack the Iranian nuclear sites and the administration stopped them.

Okay I don’t know shit, but my money is on Trump trying to negotiate a peaceful and one that is verifiably enforceable, Otherwise I think that the Iranian nuclear program will be toast,

AOC

I’m sick and tired of seeing all this nonsense about AOC being the future of the Dems. She’s brain dead and has never authored a single bill and her district is a red light disrict. She killed 10,000 high paying jobs in her district. I don’t understand how she even gets elected in her district much less on a national stage. Can you seriously imagine her engaging in a debate on foreign policy or tariffs or any other serious subject? Her green scam predictions have all failed. Her chance is for the msm to hide her from any real questions. And I don’t think that will work again. Please nominate her for the Dems presidential nomination in 2028. PLEASE!,

GAD SAAD

First I haven’t commented on anything recently because I didn’t find anything worthy of comment. And second I was in the hospital for six days. Everything is fine now and I will have my gallbladder removed in six months.

Now for the purpose of this rant, I don’t know if you know Gad, but he is a Canadian professor who is very bright and also funny. On either Jesse or Hannity or maybe Ingraham when he was talking about billionaires he mentioned paying $100 million for a painting with just one redline on it and it immediately reminded me exactly of one of my pet peeves about modern art.

At the Hirshhorn museum of modern art on the National Mall, which is part of the Smithsonian, there was an exhibit of fourteen paintings representing the station of the cross. Each painting consisted of a light brown, shit colored, canvas with a single red line crossing it on a different place. And there was a sign proclaiming that it was amazing that this collection was painted in just a week. And I being me said to the other people looking at this nonsense that it amazed me that it took more than an hour. And they all laughed.

CHIEF JUSTICE ROBERTS

As I predicted he signed on with the majority to strike down overreach by a district court activist and on his own stopped at least temporarily departments from having to rehire probationary employees. As I said he didn’t want to be presiding over the court when Congress limited the power and jurisdiction of lower courts and they are rapidly working toward doing just that. You can expect he will continue on this path to try to protect his legacy.

TRUMP

Watching his speech for an Executive Order for the coal industry and all I can say is that he is the greatest retail politician I have ever seen. Pulling out a pen to sign the speech of the coal guy was genius. He has uncanny instincts to connect on the spot with ordinary people.

GO GATORS

It was a pretty ugly game but the Gators managed to pull it out at the end. Even with their best player being ice cold for most of the game. He had zero points in the first half and missed his three point shots badly. They weren’t close, but at the end of the game when it came down to win or lose WC Jr came through and the Gators won the national championship.

I have been predicting such for a few months now and not just because I’m a Gator. They beat two number one ranked teams, one on the road (Auburn). They played a tough schedule, but the thing that impressed me the most was their depth. I always thought that it would get them through to the end and it did.

Now onto next year. I’m not sure how many other than Clayton will be gone but if they stay the Gators could have another double like they did in 2006-2007.

TARIFFS

Now as you can tell, I’m back on line. I tried getting in touch with the service hosting my blog and eventually got the phone number but when I called it said they were having a problem with their phone service. I figured it was a system wide issue and figured I’d wait and see if it got resolved because there was no way I could fix it. Sure enough when I tried again my site came up with a note indicating that they had needed to update their software because WordPress had updated theirs and so were now not compatible but they upgraded and everything is good.

Now with respect to the subject of this rant, I will continue to believe that the stock market is just legalized gambling. Tell me one solid thing that is different today than was yesterday but the market lost 1700 due to speculation. There is not a single item that costs more today than yesterday. And remember that during the Magoo debacle, the market did well and the economy tanked.

Now my take is that a couple of things are going on. First the market manipulators are playing politics. They like the way things were and did their best to try to keep Trump from changing things. When he ignored them, they decided to basically sell short to try to force him to change his mind, and they will keep it up for a few days or maybe weeks to try to force Trump to blink and that ain’t gonna happen. In a few days or weeks they’ll buy the stocks back and make a tidy profit. Note that in none of this does actual profits and/or losses factor in. It’s all speculation and market manipulation.

FENCING

Mixed feelings. I support the woman who took a knee and refused to fence against a man. This event had separate male and female categories and that should be respected.

However as I think I have ranted about previously, I have a son who got into fencing and went to Nationals twice. And in Nationals and Regionals men and women are separated. However in local tournaments, they are not separated. Women do just fine, although the men usually win but there is no danger because of size or strength differences. The men may benefit from being a little quicker but not by much. You’re not running a sprint so speed is not a big enough factor to make it unfair.

However if there are two different divisions you have to go to the one your genitalia dictates.

ICYMI

Musk and DOGE have uncovered the true reason that the left is so concerned about DOGE looking into Social Security. Turns, unsurprisingly, that Magoo and the crew were giving the illegals SSN’s, registering them to vote and putting them on Medicaid as soon as they got here.

THE FINAL FOUR

Congratulations to the tournament selection committee. You got it right for the first time in a long time. All four number one seeds made it to the final four much to my surprise as I will explain below. But first I have a problem with their brackets. If you have four number one seeds and two of them are from the same conference, you don’t put them in a situation where they do what you expect and then have to cancel one of them from playing in the championship game. Yes the SEC is guaranteed one team in the final game but they could have had two. I think this was intentional. Obviously the SEC was head and shoulders above every other conference in the country and got 14 teams into the dance. A record of three more than any conference had ever done before. And the committee didn’t want that to happen.

Now why I said I was surprised at the outcome is because with all you Dukies out there including my daughter, I thought that Duke was overrated all year, not because they were a bad team, because obviously they’ve not. But because they played a week schedule. For those of you who don’t know, the first time Duke played a ranked opponent since December was when they played Louisville in the ACC Championship Game. The SEC teams played ranked opponents almost every game. But Duke is everything that they were supposed to be and good for them unless they come up against my Gators in the championship game.
