Ok here’s what’s really at the heart of the conservative movement holding up McCarthy’s claim of entitlement to power. Over the years the more senior folks have done everything possible to make sure they called the shots and held all the power and it got exponentially worse under Pelosi. So what I’ll call the gang of twenty said enough. Under the constitution every representative gets one vote and it is just as important as the vote of any other representative no matter how long they have been there. BTW in point of fact, the framers never considered the possibility of career politicians. They contemplated folks coming to Washington for a couple of months over two years and for a very limited amount of time to do what needed to be done and then went home to their farms and businesses and families and not staying in Washington forever.

Then the corruption that always takes place took place and we had career politicians whose first priority was to give themselves ever increasing power to control junior members and keep their power.

The gang of twenty said bullshit! We want to restore the House to its original intention and every members vote carries the same weight and they essentially got that with McCarthy’s compromises. Every member can bring a motion to vacate the chair. Every member can propose amendments to legislation and have them voted on and the Speaker doesn’t control what bills get to the floor for a vote. And that’s a good thing and interestingly the Dems should be voting for this also because it gives their members the same rights as republicans and rights they never had under Cruella de Ville.

So that’s what it’s all about Alfie!

It occurred to me that my last few posts may have given the impression that I am a fan of McCarthy. If you’ve followed my rants you would know that nothing is farther from the truth. I think he’s just another McConnell with no core only a desire for power. My concern is that the holdouts have no alternative and just want to grandstand for TV time. There is no way they will ever win and McCarthy has caved to almost all their demands and they still are just stonewalling because they have nothing. McCarthy has agreed to a rule that would allow any one member to file a motion to vacate the chair and put the speaker to a potential no confidence vote at any time. And in case you don’t know it, that was the norm until Pelosi changed it to further consolidate her power. So basically McCarthy has agreed that if he doesn’t rule as promised he can be sent packing at anytime.

So I don’t think it makes sense to continue the charade but on the other hand I have to admit that effectively shutting down the legislative branch is not a bad thing. They can’t do anything stupid!

Actually that’s unfair. KJP isn’t illiterate. She just has the smallest vocabulary of any supposed educated individual. I didn’t comment on her about stochastic because I didn’t hear her mispronounce it and gave a pass to everyone who did because there are very few people who have ever heard that word, however she mispronounced Nobel and any sentient person would know the proper pronunciation and then yesterday she mispronounced emeritus in referencing the pope. I am 100% sure that everyone reading this is familiar with the word and knows how to pronounce it. She pronounced it as ‘em ere right is which sounds like a disease. I just don’t understand how someone who is supposed to be a spokesperson can be so ignorant about common vocabulary. I guess checking boxes is way more important than basic intelligence.

I meant to comment on this earlier but they turned out to be a nothing burger as I knew they would. Even the msm is now pivoting to saying that we need to change the tax code because Trump followed it and they don’t like the results. Do any of you seriously believe that Trump with the best tax lawyers in the business cheated on his taxes?

That’s as stupid as the New York attorney general, I think her name is Lattica James, claiming that he somehow defrauded major banks by claiming his assets were worth more than they were? Deutsche Bank and other major banking institutions took his word for it? They had an obligation to do their own due diligence and they all got paid back in full. He needs to sue her ignorant biased ass for malicious prosecution.

But the more important point here is that I have previously ranted, the Dems never see beyond their nose. Now that the Supremes have said Congress can subpoena and get anyones tax records, the republicans need, once they get their shit together and elect a speaker, to subpoena the tax records of Magoo and his son and Pelosi and Paulie P and Schumer and Schiff and Swalwell and Maxine Waters and Nadler and see how quickly their assholes clench.

And btw every member of the J6 committee.

That may sound strange but the debacle on the speakership can be blamed directly on him. How can I say that you ask? Because he removed the power of the purse from the incoming Republican house by agreeing to a ridiculously massive and wasteful spending bill that funded the government through September. If he had done what he should have and got a continuing resolution until early January then the republican resistance wouldn’t be able to play their games. They would need to actually legislate, and in case you don’t know, there is no House until a speaker is chosen and members are sworn in. Right now the only legislative body is the senate and because there is no pressing legislation that needs to be addressed, the idiots can keep running the asylum. Does it really matter how long they have to wait to conduct meaningless oversight hearings that will result in no tangible change? No so this nonsense can last indefinitely!

I should add that you need to remember what I said earlier, when the last Congress ended all their bills died and the new Congress would have to start from scratch on a bill funding the government and yes they could kick that down the road a bit but until there’s a speaker and then a house they couldn’t even do that.

The story of the principal denying students knowledge of their merit scholar status because it wasn’t fair and equitable to everyone reminded me of an incident I was involved in. And no it has nothing to do with academics. In point of fact when I was in high school almost 60 years ago it was the opposite of woke. There were advanced or accelerated classes for the top, I don’t know but will say, 15 to 20% of students and then the majority of the students were in regular classes and the sweathogs had their own classes and since I played sports and most of my friends were sweathogs I never had any classes with them. How long do you think that would last in today’s woke nonsense?

The incident I’m referring to happened one time I flew into San Francisco on business and I don’t recall why the problem existed but it was probably because Hertz’s computers went down at some point before I arrived and resulted in a pretty big back up. Now through most of my professional career I was a Hertz Gold Card member which was very convenient because there was a separate check in line for us that was very quick. I don’t think I ever had to wait more than 15 minutes to check in and get my car.

However on this day a black twenty something woman decided that she would close the gold line because it wasn’t fair to everyone and I and other gold members didn’t raise a ruckus until after I had been waiting for 30-40 minutes and some I guess minor celebrity or maybe just some guy dressed up and the same woman opened the gold line and waited on him immediately and I did raise a ruckus. I said why is he going to the front of the line and she said because he’s a gold member and I said so am I and many of the people waiting in line.

Anyway when I got to the counter which wasn’t too much longer I asked for the manager and my agent asked why and I said because I want the communist fired immediately. I didn’t get the manager but they upgraded me to the top of the line Lexus at no charge.

Now just so you don’t fall for the nonsense that having Jeffries as speaker doesn’t affect the Republican majority in the house, get real! I will only give you one example because it’s getting late and I’m getting tired. The speaker determines what bills come to the floor for votes. Effectively he could prevent any Republican bills from ever reaching the floor for a vote thus giving the minority in the house majority control.

I am watching and truly appreciate her holding the holdouts feet to the fire. She had on Chip Roy who I used to consider a good congressman and totally exposed him for the fraud he is. He’s one of the 20 holdouts and when she continued to press him, he had nothing cogent other than not McCarthy. He would risk a Dem speaker rather than have a Republican he doesn’t like. He’s an asshole and as a charter member of assholedom,he’s an embarrassment. If these idiots end up making Jeffries speaker, their political careers are over. Wake up idiot

The debacle at the Thomas Jefferson high school has been going on since 2017. It’s not new but parents finally found out. I believe I saw somewhere that 1200 students were affected.

Tucker covered my rant on the merit scholars just now but it’s not a new story. I saw it last week and discussed it with one of you yesterday.
