First let me make an observation that I have discussed with some of you before. We all tend to believe that everyone sees what we see and draws the same conclusions we do. It’s unfortunately not true. Most on the left only see leftist propaganda from the msm and pbs and npr. They are totally clueless about what really is happening. And so you can never assume that facts will get in the way of ideology
Next the country has become more and more polarized and therefore facts like inflation and gas prices don’t matter, particularly to younger voters, which I’ll have more to say about later, because they believe the government will take care of them with things like student loan forgiveness and universal basic income. You need look no farther than Shrek. Only people who don’t care about anything but the fact that they can put a Democratic in office no matter what, could vote for this idiot who is the only person that makes Magoo sound eloquent. And the only reason he won is because a large number of votes were counted before people got to see how mentally compromised he was. Which is why we need to stop months long early voting. I have no problem with limited early voting starting the week before Election Day and in person, but two months is ridiculous! And if you need more proof in Pennsylvania, they just elected to the state senate a guy who died a month before the election. Welcome to senator at Bernie’s.
Now let’s talk about really was the left’s firewall against a red wave. It was a surprise because typically the 18-30 crowd doesn’t vote in big numbers and particularly in mid-terms. However it was reported that 64% of them voted for Dems.. Now this is not surprising because they have all been indoctrinated by our failing public school system into all kinds of nonsense and are clueless about the real world. Now here’s where the Dems were brilliant and the Republicans weren’t. They scared the crap out of if these youngsters and told them that the Republicans were going to take away their rights and their get out the vote grassroots efforts paid off.
And although as you know I am a Trump fan his constant presence in the closing days actually worked against the Republicans because it gave the Dems an opportunity to make the election about Trump and scare their base out. He basically kept saying he was going to run again and that fired up the left. I sincerely hope he doesn’t announce he’s running until after the Georgia runoff and that he has only minimal involvement..I doubt his ego will allow that but please let Kemp and DeSantis carry the load along with the likes of Cruz and Rubio. If he does hold a rally where he can draw a crowd bigger than anyone, make it about Herschel and not him. Make his remarks about Herschel and not himself. Let Herschel speak for 10 or 15 minutes instead of just a cameo. Put your ego aside for a month!
One last thing, and with a nod to Bongino who pointed this out yesterday, but the fact that Republicans will only hold a small majority in the house is not necessarily a bad thing. Just as Pelosi had to listen to AOC and her ilk because without them she couldn’t do anything. Likewise whoever the Republican Speaker is, he can’t ignore the freedom caucus!
