Apparently on next Wednesday the Republican senators will vote for the next Majority Leader. I’m not sure how they can do this since the next senate will have different senators than the present one. And we may still not know a couple of them. I guess they can get the senators elect on a call.

But putting that aside, at present there are three senators running for the position. Rick Scott, John Thune and John Cornyn. The latter two who think they are the heir apparent to cocaine Mitch would be terrible. They are just continuations of McConnell and would be a drag on Trump. Remember that the last time Trump got elected McConnell and Paul Ryan as Speaker sabotaged much of his agenda. These two are poster children for the now rejected old Republican Party.

Scott is full in on the Trump agenda and he is a close friend of Trump’s. I saw three things that made me wonder how this will turn out. First, Thune warned Trump to stay out of it. Second, it appears that if Trump endorsed one of them, it would seal the deal and last there is one report that says Trump said he wouldn’t endorse Scott wasn’t a serious person. I don’t believe the last point because Trump will face roadblocks with the other two.
