I think he was guilty but am amazed at that the jury deliberations were so short.

He’s found guilty in I guess record time and it clearly means that the jury had their minds made up before they got to deliberations. I don’t know enough about the case to comment. I heard some of the closing arguments today but don’t really have enough information to base an opinion on. I heard today that some were saying that the prosecution fell short because their motive that it was done to cover his drug and stealing crimes was weak and not a real motive.

She is a black doctor just on Tucker and I agree with her. I’m not interested in your race or ethnicity or color. I’m interested in your competency period. I had the doctor, his name was Chuilli I think and early on in our first interaction he made the point of telling me he was an American. I didn’t ask and was surprised because I selected him because he was highly recommended not because of his ethnicity. He was the doctor who operated on me to eliminate my dick farting, pnematuria.

But the thing that she talked about that really rang true with me was when she talked about doctors being co-opted by big medico. My doctor here was for the first six or seven years a private physician in a group of physicians that had their own practice. When I went in we would always shoot the shit and catch up on what was going on. And then that group got swallowed up by UNC Healthcare and he suddenly became a corporate bureaucrat interested more in checking boxes for money than in actually interacting with me. He still did a decent job but it was like being on an assembly line. He has become more real recently but we need family practitioners not corporate employees.

I can potentially handle though condemn the rewriting of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and maybe some Dr. Seuss books because I never read them, but this nonsense of using presentism to rewrite everything is just plain bullshit. Back in the sixties I read all of the James Bond novels and enjoyed them all and am not interested in having them rewritten to the standards of some snowflakes.

They have even rewritten Mark Twain replacing nigger with slave and it always reminds me of a D L Hugely stand up special where he says I don’t know about you but I would much rather be called a nigger than a slave because if I’m a nigger I get to go home and do whatever I want but if I’m a slave I got to go home with you and I’m not free.

And this whole nonsense reminds of something from my Harvard time. There was a theater in Cambridge that played recent popular movies and I bought a ticket that basically gave me unlimited access to movies for a month or more and I went frequently and this was back when Stripes and other movies were fairly new and the one that caused controversy was the James Bond film, For Your Eyes Only. And the idiot feminists in the audience would hiss and boo every time James got lucky. You knew what it was about and if that somehow offends you then don’t go and stop trying to ruin the movie for everyone else. You’re just annoying not brave!
