I wasn’t going to put this up because it seemed a little crazy but yesterday I sent a couple of you a link to an article on revolver suggesting that it wasn’t a robbery but Paulie P in a dispute with a male prostitute over payment for services rendered. Today at lunch at a restaurant I like the waitri were wearing Halloween costumes and one dressed as Cruella de Villa asked me the other three men who sitting at the bar who she was and I said Nancy Pelosi and the other guys cracked up but she didn’t seem happy. Just another example of your curmudgeon winning friends and influencing people.

I didn’t realize it until today but rising interest rates are having an affect I didn’t recognize. I discovered it today when I looked up the powerball payouts for tonight. As I’m sure you know, tonight’s jackpot is one billion dollars, and I hope you have a ticket. But here’s what I noticed, the cash value is $497.3 million. That’s less than 50%. It has generally been in the sixty to sixty five percent range for quite a while because of low interest rates. This actually makes sense when you consider that what the cash option is is the present value of an annuity paid out over a number of years. I don’t want to get into the weeds because you probably don’t care, but I studied it both in Engineering Economics and during my MBA program. Suffice it to say that the higher the interest rates the lower the present value of that income will be.

I’m going to violate my basic rule and rant about something I’m sure that you already know. Pelosi is a complete idiot. Today she said this isn’t about inflation but cost of living. That’s almost a tautology but is definitely an equivalency. If inflation goes up so does the cost of living. They’re inextricably linked. Apparently her one brain cell has finally passed away. I’m sure sure she can’t wait to get to Italy to continue the scam.

Today I had lunch at a nice oceanfront restaurant. I was seated inside at an oceanfront table — I don’t like to sit outside because I hate having to constantly try to keep everything from blowing away. Sitting at an outdoor table probably 8 feet from me was a family, mother and father around 50 and daughter late teens to mid twenties. During the 45 or so minutes we were there, the family with a nice oceanfront table at a nice restaurant didn’t speak to each other at all. They all had their faces buried in their phones texting. A sad commentary on family life.

She’s the dem running for governor in Arizona against Kari Lake, a certifiable political rockstar. I meant to write this a couple weeks ago but as usual was lazy. But today I saw that Mollie Hemingway agreed with me so I will rant. Put Katie Hobbs in YouTube and just listen to her speak. She sounds like a ten year old. And I don’t mean mentally but that’s probably true, but her voice! The first time I heard her I thought how can someone who sounds this immature be taken seriously. Ok Magoo would sniff her but come on.

As with most things I meant to do this earlier but didn’t get around to it. But now I’m going to do it. The left is cheering the sentencing of Bannon but as usual they don’t look ahead. So here’s what they are too dumb to understand. When republicans take back the House and subpoena Pelosi and Schumer and Schitt et al they will have to either comply or go to jail and I don’t think even the corrupt judges in DC can credibly try to differentiate between a claim of executive privilege and some bullshit they make up to try to keep their asses out of jail.

I meant to do this yesterday but being lazy and enjoying the ocean I didn’t get around to it but but a group of faux scientists, think doctor Jill, glued themselves to the floor in a Porsche place claiming they would be there until Germany decarbonized the transportation sector and hilariously the Porsche people left them glued to the floor and turned off the lights and heat and they had a glimpse of the bullshit the are peddling. No food, no water and they had to shit themselves. Enjoy

Yesterday the article in the first link appeared citing that Boston University had created, apparently through gain of function research, a new strain with an 80% kill rate. And today Bongino ran with all his usual bluff and bluster and I tried unsuccessfully to contact him so he could do a cleanup in aisle six type thing and as usual he ignored me. Dan doesn’t like to admit he’s wrong!

At any rate, Alex Berenson put out the second article linked below and it totally debunks the first one and Bongino. The gist is that BU combined the original Wuhan virus with omicron and produced a virus that is less lethal than the original and more lethal than omicron. The 80% kill rate is true but that’s it mice. The original Wuhan virus had a 100% kill rate in mice. Enjoy

BTW this is exactly why I started this blog in the first place because it drives me crazy when talking heads pontificate about that of which they are clueless!

Normally at this time of year until November they make a big deal of making sure you don’t have outside lights because of sea turtle nesting. Not the case this year apparently because Ian totally destroyed any nests that were here.
