I’m sitting on my balcony and two women just came by on the beach and they are the only ones in sight except for about a hundred seagulls and they are wearing masks. WTF

I’m down here for a week and a half and couldn’t be enjoying it more. It’s overcast with very little rain and cool with a nice breeze. More importantly, because of the various storms in Atlantic, the ocean is angry and the surf is up. Fantastic!

Another observation about this time of year, is that all the kids are back in school, with the exception of preschoolers, who can be annoying. However it is more than made up for by the fact that most of the people here are my age or older and I swear it looks like Monty Python’s Ministry of silly walks. I feel good about my feeble state compared to what I am seeing.

On the Five today, Juan Williams was incredulous that Trump didn’t go to New York today and wondered why in a kind of backhanded criticism. I wanted someone to say well maybe because Cuomo threatened his life if he did.

The article is embedded below but the short take is that the CDC said if you’re in California or Oregon you should stay inside because your masks have pores that are bigger than the size of the particulates in smoke. As the article below details, and it’s short so read it, the problem for the CDC is that the Covid virus is smaller than the smoke particulates so obviously masks are even less effective against Covid.

Ok I switched over to see just how bad the NFL game would be in terms of pandering to BLM et al. I expected to see BLM painted in the end zones and what I saw was Chiefs. Now I didn’t see whatever crap went on in the beginning, however what I did see was that some players have some bs slogans on the base of the back of their helmets. The interesting thing is that whenever one of those helmets came into view the camera switched immediately to something else so fast that I couldn’t make out what bs they had put on their helmets. Obviously NBC wants to have its cake and eat it too. Also it appears that most of the players don’t have shit written on their helmets. Such hypocrisy!

As I have said that business owners should sue the governors of their states under the Fifth Amendment for taking their property without just compensation. I believe that in New York gym owners did and suddenly they got the right to partially reopen.

Now as I stated a couple of days ago, the restaurants in NYC sued for $2 billion for taking their property and guess what? Just like with the gyms (and I could be wrong about it being the gyms but whatever group it was the point is the same) now NYC is going to allow in restaurant dining starting in a couple weeks at 25% capacity.

All the small businesses in every state that are closed down by fascist governors need to file class action suits under the taking clause of the Fifth Amendment. Once these petty tyrants have skin in the game, they fold to try to prevent the suits from going forward and costing their states millions or billions of dollars.

BTW: I don’t think that the restaurants should withdraw their class action because of a half assed capitulation. Press it to the end and get back the money these would be Hitler’s took from you while they pounded on their chests almost orgasmic from their perceived unconstitutional power.

This is the first of five rants today. (Actually it’s the last but if wrote it first it would show up last.)

I went to Harris Teeter today and it appears that people are getting fed up with the mask nonsense. I would say that about 20% of us were not wearing masks. A couple weeks ago 95% of people were wearing masks and I wore one at half mast but now people are getting fed up and I think we will be seeing less and less people wearing them.

I sincerely hope I’m wrong but I’m getting the vibe that there may not be anymore indictments coming out of Durham’s investigation of Russiagate.

The reason for my pessimism is two things that happened yesterday. First Trey Gowdy said in the morning that he thought and hoped that the one indictment so far would be the only one.

Then AG Bill Barr talked last night on the Levin show about how difficult it was to gather all the necessary evidence and then get an indictment through a grand jury. At that point I knew he was posturing because as I’m sure most of you know it’s commonly said a good prosecutor could indict a ham sandwich. And I recalled an earlier statement Barr made about not wanting to politicize the justice system.

What Barr and Gowdy are really saying is that we should be above petty retribution for political crimes. And this is the problem with Republicans. They want to be above sullying their hands with politics. The Dems weaponize DOJ and the FBI and harass and prosecute folks like Flynn and Stone and try to destroy a duly elected president, but now these guys want to give obvious criminals a free pass because they think if Durham writes a scathing report that should be good enough. Bullshit! The only thing that they will learn is that they can get away anything because the Republicans are too busy posturing about being above the fray.

And for any of you who saw Barr last night talking about the difficulty of putting together a case, again I say, bullshit. Many former federal prosecutors have said there are several slam dunk cases and you’ve all seen the evidence. The many emails and texts and statements are there and unrefutable.

I hope I’m wrong but I am getting a very uneasy feeling.

Trump announced that he is canceling all the bogus Critical Race Theory training being conducted in the federal government. And well he should. This is complete nonsense that was the obvious outcome of what I ranted about years ago now when universities got away from traditional education and created new disciplines like Black Studies and Women’s Studies which as I previously stated provide no marketable skills and means you either teach or become an activist.

Back in the day when I was responsible for EEO matters, it started off as cultural diversity training when we went from a melting pot to a fruit salad. I went to a preview of the proposed training and said no because the theory was that because blacks came from Africa where food was plentiful and the weather was always warm that time was not something they were concerned with and so if they show up late or leave early it’s okay because that’s their culture. On the other hand, white folks came from Europe where time was important because you had to get the planting and harvesting done before winter and so we’re all anal retentive about being on time.

Trump also said yesterday, I believe, that he will deny federal funding to any school systems that teach the 1619 project, about which I have previously ranted and has been thoroughly debunked by leading historians. And briefly for any of you who are new or don’t remember, the 1619 project is simply a theory that the US started when the first slaves arrived and not in 1776 and the entire history of this country was and still is based entirely on slavery.
