I had to switch to non-political programming because Schiff was lying again. He was claiming that Trump didn’t produce any witnesses to support his case. Such bullshit! Remember that Schiff and Nadler refused to allow Republicans to call witnesses and as I pointed out again yesterday, Nadler refused to allow the president to participate unless he waived all his privileges. Rank hypocrisy!!

I believe that the president’s team did an outstanding job in wrapping it up today. The thing I wanted to comment on is the reaction of various networks. Fox was as expected schizo depending on who was talking.

MSNBC was ultra partisan as always talking about how the Dems put on an irrefutable case and the president’s team did nothing to rebut it. I don’t know what planet they are on.

CNN, to their credit, acknowledged that the closing for the president was very effective.

I am amazed that I have to go to MSNBC to watch the impeachment trial. Fox is continuing with other stuff. Really?

Pam Bondi just destroyed Joe Biden’s presidential candidacy. She wasn’t as smooth as I would have expected but she got the truth out! She’s also much better looking than Schiff and Nadler.

Last week Andy McCarthy put out an article saying that the Dems had a big advantage because they got to go first and he always thought that that was a big advantage to get his case out first before the jury. With all do respect to Andy, I disagree. He is talking about opening statements. What we are really dealing with are closing statements.

in a normal case the party with the burden of proof gets to to make the first closing statement and then the other party gets to make their closing statement. But here’s where Andy is wrong. In a normal case the prosecution gets to make a response to the defense closing statement. That’s not the case here. The Dems made their case or the lack there of and now the president gets to make his case and the Dems don’t get to respond. They are stuck with their baseless case and the president’s team get to rip it apart without rebuttal. Sorry Andy but your being only aware of criminal procedure is causing you to get this process wrong. I have litigated many cases where you only get one bite of the apple and it’s always better to get the last bite!

Now I watched all of the presidents defense so far today and it was devastating to the Dems case. Now I watched it on CNN because I wanted to see what the fake news MSM would have to say. As expected all they want to talk about is the Bolton bombshell. They know they got reamed and so want to deflect from the facts. It confirms that the leak was timed specifically to divert attention away from the truth.

I could have stayed with Fox because they have Juan Williams and Chris Wallace who should be on CNN. Again remember that the NYT has said they don’t actually have the transcript. How many times have we seen this play before.

I told you that the Dems were working their same tired old playbook and would undoubtedly leak more ‘bombshells’ during the course of the Senate trial. I’m sure you’re all aware by now that an excerpt from John Bolton’s upcoming book was leaked to the NYT claiming that Trump told him that the aid would be withheld until Ukraine started investigating the Bidens.

Here’s what you may not know. On December 30, a draft was provided for a prepublication review by the NSA as is required. Now guess who is responsible for such reviews — colonel Vindman’s identical twin brother Yevgeny. That’s right the twin brother of the guy who illegally leaked the Ukraine phone call to the whistleblower has had the Bolton transcript for almost a month and apparently it wasn’t leak worthy until just in time to aid the Dems in trying prolong the trial and call witnesses.

Now at this point I don’t know whether excerpt is accurate or disinformation like the whistleblower complaint. Trump has denied it, Bolton hasn’t confirmed it and at the end of the day Ukraine got the aid and didn’t have to do anything for it.

PS. Since I put up this rant this morning, I have heard that the NYT has said they don’t have the transcript but were told what it says. I am now heavily leaning towards disinformation as part of the same old playbook.

It is very sad to hear that Kobe and his daughter were killed today in an helicopter crash. But it shows us just how tenuous life is. Anyone of us could die at anytime and so we should all appreciate the time we have. Most people reading this could die of natural causes at this point in our lives. Enjoy everyday that you have. I would also say avoid helicopters, but I doubt anyone reading this travels regularly by helicopter. In fact I’m fairly sure most of us have never ridden in one.

Unfortunately I didn’t see the President’s team opening statements today. I had planned to watch it but thought it would start at one pm as has been the case up until now. However, from what I have seen and heard since, it is pretty much what I expected.

Now the reason for this rant is the utter hypocrisy of the House managers. Remember that they all spent copious amounts of time telling us that Trump’s delay in sending military aid to Ukraine was a national security issue that imperiled not only Ukrainian security but our own security because apparently after Russia invaded and conquered Ukraine they were going to invade the US. On its face this is absurd since, contrary to the Obama Administration, Trump had already supplied lethal aid to Ukraine in the form of anti-tank missiles among other things.

Here’s the thing I learned today. Four of the six Dem managers either voted against providing lethal aid to Ukraine or abstained from voting on the aid. Most notably, Jerry, the bowling ball, Nadler voted twice to deny lethal aid to Ukraine. This the height of hypocrisy since this rotund hypocrite spent a lot of his time before the senate claiming that Trump’s 55 day delay was treasonous. Shut up you idiot!
